Pdisp (formerly Vdisp)Pdisp calculates the displacements (and stresses if required) within a linear elastic or non-linear soil mass, arising from uniform normal or tangential pressure, applied to rectangular and circular loaded planes. The program is ideal for predicting the displacements that may arise due to the action of several loads in a soil mass, and gives the user an understanding of the settlement pattern likely to arise both beneath and beyond the loaded area being analysed. The program assumes the soil is an elastic half-space when calculating the stress changes within the soil. Individual layer properties are used to calculate the vertical strain and the displacements resulting from these stresses. It effectively replaces the need for the engineer to use Newmark charts and other similar devices. Pdisp is a development of (and replacement for) Vdisp. Vdisp predicted displacements induced by vertical loads on horizontal loaded areas only. Pdisp is capable of predicting displacements due to both vertical and horizontal loads. Key Benefits:
